Pre-referral work-up

History

When to refer to a specialist:

• Diagnostic uncertainty
• Acute erythroderma or generalized pustular psoriasis or acute unstable psoriasis
• Difficult to treat sites that are unresponsive to initial therapy
• That is unresponsive to /or adverse reactions to topical therapies in standard doses for two to three months or escalating need for topical steroids
• Causing major physical and/or psychological disability
