Pre-referral work-up

History

All referrals should comply with the Referral Standard guidelines and include in particular:

• History of condition including diagnosis
• Past treatments and response

Tests

• ENT consult required for patients presenting with voice disorder
• Paediatric workup required for children presenting with complex feeding issues

Other publicly funded speech pathology services are available through St Giles for children (see their criteria) and through the Department of Education for children attending State schools.

🚩 Known or suspected dysphagia with aspiration pneumonia and/or weight loss
