Pre-referral work-up

History

Referral is not essential, but all referrals should comply with the referral standards and specifically include:

• details of the condition including duration and onset
• past treatments and response
• allergies
• current medications

Tests

Copies of all investigations undertaken to make the diagnosis

• HIV test - confirmed HIV Ab/Ag test
• FBE
• Hepatitis serology, syphilis and other STI testing
• other tests as discussed with the Sexual Health Service

Advice about risk reduction for transmission.
