Pre-referral work-up
History
All referrals should comply with referral standards and specifically include the following:
- Brief overview of wound history and current treatment plan:
- Wound location, initial cause, duration, previous and current treatments, wound related pain
- Weight estimation if over 160kg
Tests
- FBC, UEC, LFT, Lipids, (HbA1c if diabetic)
- Recent wound swab result (if applicable)
- Duplex arterial / venous ultrasound scan results (if recent)

Emergency
🚩 Spreading cellulitis with systemic signs
🚩 Rest pain in a person with a diabetic foot ulcer
