Pre-referral work-up
History
The Centre is for most women* with a confirmed intrauterine pregnancy and who are above 13 weeks gestation with a pregnancy related concern or a postnatal concern up to 6 weeks postpartum.
Assessment may be midwifery only or midwifery and medical.
*Exclusions: Significant maternal trauma, significant respiratory episode, cardiac related episode, altered conscious state or significant neurological condition, non-pregnancy related concerns.
Women may self-present. Where a clinician is referring please provide all demographic details, and detail the clinical concern, the examination and investigation findings, gestation, and any clinical intervention you have provided to the patient. Indicate if an O & G Registrar has been contacted.

Haemo-dynamically unstable patients
Significant maternal trauma
Significant respiratory episode
Cardiac related episode
Altered conscious state or significant neurological condition
If you, or someone else, are experiencing a serious and life-threatening injury or illness call triple zero (000) immediately or go to the nearest Emergency Department.

Urgent (Category 1)
Urgent referrals should be accompanied by a phone call to the Consultant/Registrar to organise urgent review.
We will endeavour to see these patients within four weeks, or sooner if clinically indicated.
