Secondary Amenorrhoea

Pre-referral work-up

History

More than 6 months

All referrals should comply with referral standards and include in particular:

• Age over 15
• History including weight loss/gain, dietary and exercise history,
• Sexual history and contraceptive history
• Drug history in particular psychotrophic
• Galactorrhoea
• Signs of masculinisation, hirsuitism
• Significant stress/anxiety and environmental factors
• Past history including gynaecological infections/surgery, abdominal surgery

Tests

• FSH/LH/HCG
• Prolactin x3 - only do once if normal
• Thyroid function test
• Ultrasound
