Recurrent Miscarriages

Pre-referral work-up

History

Generally, refer after third miscarriage or after second if maternal age over 38 or additional history of infertility

All referrals should comply with referral standards and include in particular:

• Detailed general medical history including past surgical details
• Detailed obstetric history

Tests

• TFTs, anti TPO, anti-thyroglobulin,
• HBA1c
• Prolactin,
• Lupus anticoagulant, anticardiolipin ab, anti b2 and glycoprotein antibodies
• Coeliac screen
• Vitamin D
• Consider semen analysis as teratospermia can be implicated
