Pre-referral work-up
History
Aneurysms/Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs)/Other miscellaneous vascular conditions
All referrals should comply to referral standards and include in particular: Current symptomatology
Tests
- CT scan + CTA
- MRI if available (otherwise performed at the Royal Hobart Hospital)
- Provide details of severity of pain and other symptoms to assist in triage of appointment

Clinic appointments

Emergency
? Evidence of bleed decrease Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS)

Urgent (Category 1)
? Aneurysms/Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs)/Other miscellaneous vascular conditions
? Subarachnoid haemorrhage
Urgent cases must be discussed with the Neurosurgery Registrar on call to obtain appropriate prioritisation and a referral faxed to (03) 6173 0491
We will endeavour to see these patients within 30 days, or sooner if clinically indicated.
