Pre-referral work-up

History

Note: Tasmanian Health Service does not provide IVF

All referrals should comply with referral standards referral standard and include in particular:

• Detailed sexual, menstrual and obstetric history
• Detailed past history
• Full medical history including medications
• Copy of partner's sperm count

Tests

• FSH/LH/HCG
• Prolactinx3 - only do once if normal
• Thyroid function test
• Ultrasound
• Testosterone/SHBG/DHEA (if hirsute)
• Partners semen analysis

GP should organise sperm count for partner before referral and send copy of results.
