Cancer Support and Wellbeing Centre - North West Cancer Centre
Volunteers are the welcoming face of the Cancer Support and Wellbeing Centre at the North West Cancer Centre. The Centre provides an oasis for patients, carers, families and others affected by cancer. The team are available to make refreshments (tea and coffee) while providing a listening ear.
Wellbeing Centre volunteers assist with maintaining the presentation of the centre, by tidying the inside area and outside courtyard, and keeping patient information, such as brochures, up to date. Volunteers may aid the centre's support groups and help behind the scenes by putting patient information packages together, as required.
Mersey Day Oncology Unit
The Mersey Oncology and Medical Day Procedure Unit has volunteers who work off site to support patients having cancer treatment. The oncology unit volunteers make beanies, bags and other comfort items.
