Intersections
People may have more than one identity or aspects to their identity. This is called ‘intersection of identity’. For example, someone may be both Aboriginal and bisexual. Or may identify as a trans-man living with a disability.
Types of identity intersections

- Gender and gender identity
- Sex, sexual orientation and sex characteristics
- Colour
- Refugee or asylum seeker background
- Migration or visa status
- Language
- Faith or religion
- Ability
- Neurodiversity (for example, sociability, learning, attention, mood and other mental functions)

- Mental health
- Socioeconomic status (how much you earn)
- Housing status and geographic location (where you live and type of home)
- Medical record
- Criminal record
