When you’re unwell, there are a range of different care options available in Tasmania. Choosing the most appropriate service for your needs can help you get the right care sooner and help busy services.
Many common injuries and illnesses can be treated at home with over-the-counter medicines and plenty of rest. This includes things like minor cuts and grazes, bruises, sprains and coughs and colds.
It’s important to be prepared to manage illness and injury at home by having a well-stocked medicine cupboard.
Pain relief and things like cough remedies can be bought from pharmacies, supermarkets and stores without a prescription or appointment.
