The Department of Health (Tasmania) is the fundholder for several Australian Government-funded outreach services. These are administered through the TAZREACH office.
The ultimate aims of these programs are to improve health outcomes for people living in rural, remote, regional and some urban locations.
What is outreach?
Outreach refers to health professionals providing a service in a location other than where they principally practice.
Our preferred model involves services provided to rural, regional, remote and very remote communities where the need for access to services is greater by providers travelling to these locations from larger and less remote areas. The purpose of outreach is to increase access to services that more remote communities would not normally have.
