Expressions of Interest
2025 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Eye Health Conference (NATSIEHC25):
The first round of expressions of interest (EOI) has closed. In early December 2024, TAZREACH will prepare and distribute a second EOI.
The NATSIEHC25 will be from Tuesday, 27 May 2025 to Thursday, 29 May 2025. The conference will be co-convened with the University of Western Australia on the beautiful lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people, Perth, Western Australia.
The theme of next years’ conference is “Seeing Our Way,” reflects the growing evolution of self-determination and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership in eye health and vision care.
The focus of this work is to ensure the vision and future needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Eye Health are strong and bright.
A reminder that early bird registrations close on Thursday, 12 December 2024.

Child Safety Training
As some of you may be aware, there is a new requirement in service agreements that all staff involved in the delivery of outreach services must complete child safety training.
This requirement comes from the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act (2023). To ensure compliance with the Act, the Department mandates that all subcontracts demonstrate staff completion of child safety training. Ideally, this would involve a certificate issued either as part of professional development (CPD) or as a mandatory requirement by the business or organisation employing the staff member.
For those who have not yet completed the training, we offer a 30-minute online course that provides a certificate upon successful completion. The course is available through the Health Learning Online system.
End of Calendar Year Cut-Off Dates
TAZREACH would like to advise that there will be an early closure of our finance system before we break for the holidays. This occurs every year in the lead up to Christmas and will remain closed until the New Year during which time we are unable to process any claim forms.
Please see below the dates you will need to note for the submission of your claim forms:
Tuesday 18th December – This will be the final day of processing before Christmas.
Thursday 2nd January – Financial processing of claim forms received after the cut-off date above will recommence.
