2023-24 Annual Review & Service Agreements for 2024-25
TAZREACH would like to thank everyone who participated in the annual review this year.
With the uncertainty about what funding would be available for 2024-25, it has been a difficult time for everyone. However, all work plans are now being finalised in preparation of review and endorsement by our Advisory Forum.
All providers and host sites whose services have been included in our planning for 2024-25 will receive new agreement(s), and we anticipate these will be issued at the end of June or early July. To help us prepare your new agreement(s), please contact TAZREACH and inform us if your contact or creditor details have changed.
There have been many reductions across our various programs, as such you may see this reflected in your new agreement(s). However, TAZREACH hopes to utilise any available surplus to reinstate visits where possible.
The TAZREACH office will keep you updated if there are any delays to receiving your new agreement(s) due to circumstances outside of our control.
End of Financial Year Cut-Off Dates
Each year the Department of Health (DoH Tas) closes its finance system for two to three weeks from mid-June for end of financial year processing. During this time TAZREACH is unable to process any claims for payment until the system reopens in July.
With the end of the current financial year approaching, it is important to take note of a few deadlines:
13 June 2024 – This is the final day TAZREACH can process claims for June 2024. Please ensure all outstanding claims for visits that have been delivered are submitted by this date for processing and payment before the end of June.
Please continue to submit claims for payment after this date. Processing will recommence in July and be backdated accordingly.
Please also remember that in line with the Treasurer’s Instructions, TAZREACH cannot pre-pay for visits that occur after the cut-off date.
29 July 2024 – All outstanding claims for 2023-24 need to be submitted by this date to guarantee payment.
Note that all claims relating to services under the Bass Strait Islands Agreement (BSIA) and Coordination of Indigenous Eye Health (IEHC) programs will be followed up sooner to allow TAZREACH to meet its reporting deadlines.
Once our final reports have been finalised for the Australian Government, TAZREACH cannot guarantee that claims received after this date will be paid. Negotiation of payment of un-submitted claims may be considered, however, to manage the limitations of our program budgets, these would be deducted from your 2024-25 allocation.
Farewell to Conor
Sadly, TAZREACH recently farewelled Conor from our team as she moved to another role in the Department. Conor has been part of the TAZREACH team as a Project Officer since late 2021, overseeing the Medical Outreach Indigenous Chronic Disease Program (MOICDP) and Healthy Ears – Better Hearing, Better Listening (HEBHBL) program.
Conor was a wonderful addition to the team, and she will be missed, but we wish her all the best in succeeding in her new role!
Please see below a farewell message from Conor:
It has been a privilege working in TAZREACH for the past two and a half years, overseeing the Medical Outreach Indigenous Chronic Disease Program and the Healthy Ears – Better Hearing Better Listening program.
I feel honoured to have been given the opportunity to form such great working relationships with the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and the providers who deliver an exceptional level of services to the First Nations people here in lutruwita / Tasmania.
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of the MOICDP and HEBHBL during my time. Your communication, kindness and dedication to the health of First Nations people and outreach work has made my time in TAZREACH a pleasure. I have no doubt this success will continue into the future. I wish you all the best.
