Forms and guidelines for pharmacists
Pharmacy transfer of repeats for schedule 8 medicines
Regulation 27 of the Tasmanian Poisons Regulations 2018 enables a pharmacist to securely transfer Schedule 8 repeat prescriptions to another pharmacy. This secure transfer does not require approval from the Department of Health.
Pharmaceutical Services Branch recommends that a pharmacy keeps records of all Schedule 8 repeat prescription transfers, including, to which pharmacy, the date transferred and the method they were transferred.
