Healthcare worker education
eLearning infection prevention and control series
Infection prevention and control education needs to be timely, accessible, flexible and resource efficient.
We have produced a series of short, self-directed educational videos on basic infection prevention and control topics and principles.
These videos are available:
- at Tasmanian Health Education Online (THEO) eLearning platform for THS and DHHS employees (includes a knowledge assessment quiz and certificate)
- at eLearning Infection, Protection and Control Series (access external to DHHS)
Personal Protective equipment
Over the past 15 years several new and emerging infectious disease outbreaks have caused global concern in healthcare settings including Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in 2002-2003, H1N1 influenza in 2009 and, more recently, Ebola Virus Disease in 2014- 2015.
These outbreaks have highlighted the importance of the proper use of PPE to protect healthcare workers and the public.
We have produced four short videos showing how to put on and remove PPE safely when using standard and transmission-based precautions, these are available at Personal Protective Equipment Demonstration Videos
