Bedwetting (Wetaway program)

The Wetaway program is a self-management program run by the Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS). The program helps children aged 5 to18 years who have:
- never been dry at night
- been dry at night but have now developed bedwetting
- an adult willing to support them
The Wetaway program is offered across Tasmania and delivered by Child Health Nursing Teams who are guided by evidence-based practice.
How the program works
- When you and your child are ready to be involved in the Wetaway program contact CHaPS (details below)
- Attend an initial appointment with your child to receive assessment and support
- Receive regular telehealth support
- Use an Enuresis Alarm (bedwetting alarm) if required
About enuresis alarms
- Alarms help your child recognise when their bladder is full and that they need to go to the toilet.
- Children using alarms have a good success rate average alarm use is between 8 to12 weeks
Fees and charges
- The Wetaway program is free for children aged 5 to 18 years.
- There is a charge for equipment hire if required
