Acute mental health facility readmission rate
The percentage of patients who have been discharged from an acute psychiatric inpatient unit who have an unplanned or unexpected readmission within 28 days.
This indicator is a percentage calculated on relatively small numbers and, as such, is susceptible to large fluctuations. Recent data for readmissions and the readmission rate is incomplete and will be revised upwards in the next publication.

Community and residential active clients
The number of community and residential clients under the care of Mental Health Services.
Active community clients are people living in local communities who are actively accessing services provided by community-based Mental Health Services teams. Active residential clients are people residing in residential care provided by Mental Health Services and receiving clinical care from residential service teams.

Emergency response
The number of client interactions with the mental health emergency response service, and the number remaining in the community as a result.
The mental health emergency response service is made up of mental health clinicians, police officers, and paramedics, and aims to improve access to timely, appropriate, and evidence-based mental health care in the community as well as to significantly reduce demand on police and ambulance services.
The North West Service commenced on 27 November 2023.
