Progressing from Allied Health Professional (AHP) level 1 to Level 2
Most new graduate AHPs start at level 1. Working in the Tasmanian DoH means you can advance your career from level 1 to level 2 without waiting for a level 2 role to become available, and without a job interview. Eligible staff can apply for progression to AHP Level 2 year 1 after reaching Level 1 Year 6 (or Level 1 Year 5 for accelerated progression) by meeting competency criteria, no nerve-wracking interview required! This progression opportunity is intended to be achievable, confirming individuals meet the required competencies to perform in a Level 2 role.

The Allied Health Professional and Radiation Therapist Personal Progression Pathway is open to current and prospective DoH employee’s aiming to advance from AHP or RT level 2 to AHP or RT level 3. Eligible current employees can apply at any time through a simple assessment process. Prospective DoH employees can pursue personal progression to AHP or RT level 3 through the recruitment process when applying for an AHP level 1-2 position. It is recommended that applicants self-assess against the Eligibility and Assessment Criteria to ensure they can effectively demonstrate eligibility to the selection panel reviewing their application.
Applicants applying for the personal progression pathway during a recruitment process are encouraged to discuss their application with the hiring manager and must submit the AHP level 2 Personal Progression Application Form along with supporting evidence, their curriculum vitae (CV), and a 1-2 page statement detailing their relevant experience, skills and knowledge aligned with the statement of duties for the advertised position. Please ensure all documents are uploaded with your job application as incomplete applications will not be accepted.
