The Department of Health Tasmania is currently seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill one vacancy on the Tasmanian Radiation Advisory Council.
The Radiation Advisory Council is established under the Radiation Protection Act 2005 (the Act). Its function is to advise the Director of Public Health and Minister on radiation protection and nuclear safety matters and certain matters relating to the administration of the Act.
Members are appointed by the Minister for Health, Tasmania for 3 year terms.
Applicants must be an AHPRA registered Medical Practitioner and have a few years’ experience as a laser physician, especially in the use of Cosmetic Laser and IPL. The Radiation Advisory Council meets (at least) 6 times each year. Members of the Council (other than members who are State Service officers or State Service employees) may be paid a fee currently set at $177 per day.
