Plenty of moving helps you physically and mentally, keeping you healthy, relaxed, strong and fit.
Each week you need at least
150 minutes Moderate Activity e.g. walking OR
75 minutes Vigorous Activity e.g. running
Or a mix of both
Including weekly strength activities on 2 days e.g. dancing or push ups
Tips for getting active
- Sport or games
- Gym or fitness sessions
- Stretching activities like yoga
Each day you need to:
Minimise the amount of sitting
Break up long sitting often
At home and at work
Tips for less sitting:
- Move during TV ads
- Stand more at work
- Get off the bus early
