Winter Immunisation Toolkit

The Immunisation Team, Communicable Diseases Prevention Unit, Public Health Services have developed this toolkit to assist providers with managing the roll-out and implementation of their influenza vaccination program in 2025.

Annual influenza vaccination is the most important measure to prevent influenza and its complications. Everyone six months and older is recommended to get an influenza vaccine each year. The vaccine is funded under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) for people at higher risk of severe disease and is strongly recommended in these groups.

Typically, the period of peak influenza circulation is June to September in most parts of Australia, including Tasmania.
