Dr Durieux is an experienced Medical Oncologist, who has been a full-time Staff Specialist at the W.P. Holman Clinic since June 2016. Prior to moving to Australia, Dr Durieux worked in the UK and in France, his home country.
Beyond his clinical duties, Dr Durieux is a member of various local and state-wide committees, an RACP-approved supervisor, and a senior lecturer at UTAS. He is the deputy chair of the Tasmanian Medicines Access and Advisory Committee (TMAAC).
Dr Durieux has been the NCS Medical Oncology Discipline Lead since 2021 and since then has expanded his leadership skills. He became an associate fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrator in 2022 and completed the UTAS Graduate Certificate in Leadership (Health and Human Services) in 2023. This foundation has equipped Dr Durieux with the skills and knowledge required for his new role as the Clinical Director of the Northern Cancer Service.
