Healthy Tasmania Neighbour Day Challenge projects for 2021 announced!

Neighbour Day, Sunday, 28 March 2021

In 2021, the theme for Neighbour Day is 'Every day is neighbour day - building on the growing movement of people taking neighbourly actions every day of the year’.

Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of community, bringing together like-minded people and organisations to grow stronger, well-connected communities.

Every day is Neighbour Day!

Healthy Tasmania supported Neighbour Day with a community challenge.

In the spirit of making every day Neighbour Day in 2021, Tasmanians entered the Healthy Tasmania Neighbour Day Community Challenge to apply for up to $1 000 for their community.

The Healthy Tasmania Neighbour Day Challenge encouraged people to take neighbourly action to build positive and sustainable social connections.

Thank you to everyone that entered. Your ideas took outside-the-box thinking to find ways to connect and engage with your neighbours and communities.

Projects this year included community barbecues, garden parties, artistic performances, neighbour packs, share stations, a community walking map, a sing-along, planting/gardening sessions, a tea ceremony, and other community events designed to bring people together.

We look forward to seeing and sharing how communities are connecting across Tasmania.
