Turn Off, Switch to Play criterion

Turn Off, Switch to Play - aims to decrease screen time (e.g. television, electronic games and computers) and increase active play.

Less screen time means more time for children to develop physical, social and emotional skills through active play.

Meeting the criteria:

Primary schools

To meet this criterion, Primary Schools need to a strategy to ensure play equipment that encourages physical activity is made available to students at lunchtimes and other breaks.

Early childhood services

To meet this criterion, early Childhood Services need to limit or exclude screen time from the service consistent with the Australian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines for the Early Years (Birth to 5 years).
